Software Must Haves: Pastebot – Command Copy & Paste

Posted in Software, on December 15th, 2009 by Carlos.

pastebotNew from Tapbots, the creators of iPhone app favourites, Convertbot and Weightbot, comes Pastebot, a utility that allows you to take control of your iPhone’s clipboard. Pastebot allows you to store various clippings that you’ve added to your clipboard from different apps on your iPhone such as text clippings, photos, links, etc. It even allows you to add filters to change the style of your text and photos before you paste it back into another app. The interface is slick and fun, in keeping with their previous app designs.

If that is all Pastebot did, it would still be worth the $1.99 price on the App Store. But there’s one feature that absolutely makes this app worth it. By installing a small companion app on your Mac, you can actually share copy/paste functionality between your Mac and your iPhone. I just tried it and it works very well and it’s dead easy. As I’m typing this post, I can literally copy a sentence, and watch it automatically appear in my Clipboard in Pastebot on my iPhone. It’s brilliant!

Go check out their site now and view the demo! Thanks to Luke for sending this in. [Pastebot]
