The Apple Tablet

Posted in Gadgets, on January 4th, 2010 by Carlos.

Happy New Years!

I wasn’t going to speculate on anything regarding the rumoured Mac Tablet (iSlate, iTablet, iJesusTablet – nay, iMosesTablet), but after seeing this photo I just couldn’t help but post something about it.  [Credit: MacDailyNews]

Argh. So while I post a humorous picture about said tablet, I figured I might as well drop in a couple of cents worth of mind goo: I have a feeling that we will be soon be amazed at why we ever thought black & white e-ink eReaders like the Kindle and Sony Reader were cool. I mean… seriously… black and white? I hadn’t tried these ‘cutting edge’ devices for myself until I was in Future Shop the other day playing with a Sony Reader and was amazed at how slow page refreshes occurred (perhaps the Kindle is better?). I also kept trying to touch the screen to make something happen only to realize I had to push physical buttons to change a page. Ugh. Come on – what is this 2009? NO! Its 2010. Let’s move on!

Well there you go – perhaps the Apple tablet will be a black and white e-ink device (ha!) and I will eat my words, but I’m thinking the chance of that is infinitesimally small. :)

Looking forward to seeing what Apple has in store come January 27th.
