MacTech Benchmarks: Windows Virtualization – Fusion Crushed by Parallels

Posted in Software, on March 15th, 2010 by Carlos.

Wow. Check out the article/video comparing Parallels vs. VM Ware Fusion for virtualization of Windows under a Mac environment. Needless to say, Fusion gets absolutely CRUSHED by Parallels I’ve always used Fusion myself and found it quite reliable, but once I started using it with Windows 7 I noticed how slow and clunky it got. Perhaps I should give Parallels a shot instead. The article says that Parallels has been found to run Windows 7 43% faster than Fusion. Zoinks. [MacTech via TUAW]

Update: I just downloaded the trial version of Parallels and I can already tell the difference in speed when running Windows 7 and performing basic tasks. I’ll continue to try it out and perhaps make an official switch!
